Bogey holes conquered?

Hi Dave, yes the banks can knock the ball down & on, but as you say, the green is narrow, and anything offline can be kicked way wide too.
In fact, if you hit the wrong side of the banks on the right side of the green, your ball gets swallowed by a big hollow, where you can't even see the green/flag, so leaving you virtually no chance of getting up and down.

Thats the problem I think, off the Medal tee, you might have a 4 iron in hand, but have a green width of about 10yds to aim for in reality.
Perhaps why my stats are so pants.

And now of course, being off 10, you don't get a shot

True Bob, although in reality, I never play any hole with the 'Ive got a shot here' mentality, I play to Par it every time, - maybe thats where I go wrong !?

the 1st and the 18th have always been my downfall, it could be that on the first I'm not ready, and on the last I;m
knackered..in between its a war.got my new clubs today,so
the truce is over

I say play to par every hole unless there is something near impossible for your ability.
I only know 3 or 4 par 3s on all the courses I play regularly (that's 6 courses) that I wouldn't take it on fully committed with the correct iron.

All of them at some time or another have been a nemesis to me. Just when you think you've cracked the hole that has been giving you trouble another one becomes problematical. I "try" to take each hole as it comes and not worry about previous problems and "try" and focus on the good shots I've played there. Of course it doesn't always work.

There are some holes, particularly those I don't get a shot on such as our 13th and 17th which are two long and tricky par 3's where I always try and make par but would always accept a 4 and move on. The 17th in particular with the OB so tight to the left for the length of the hole and no room to hold the green if you block it right is a real card wrecker even for better players than me.
