I've been using a blade style putter for years.

I just bought a Ping Craze-E and it seems to stop me cutting accross my putts.

I've always had something in the back of my mind telling me these instruments are wrong and the Pro's mainly seem to favour blades.

I'm like you. I have an odyssey dual force 554 and a ping anser which are both blades but currently use an odyssey marxman mallet.

I keep getting the blades out and trying to force myself to use them but whilst they may behave on the practice green once they are on the course all the old phobias (especially on short ones) come back and I usually putt badly.

Its really a case of whatever gets the job done. It isn't a beauty pageant so I wouldn't worry what the putter looks like as long as the ball ends up in the hole

Agreed, a putter is something that just feels right whether it be a blade, mallett or whatever other shapes are being produced. I found a happy match with a cheap £28 mallett having spent 3 or 4 times as much on previous putters, it just felt right.

the ping craz-e is a great putter, mallets definitely provide a more balanced putting stroke back and through, and I think the feel off the face of the G5 version is also brilliant. Although thats down to personal preference.

I have an Odyssey, Ping and Ram blade ("normal") putter. I like them all.
I recently bought a Ping craz-e copy (Jack Nicklaus) and a Macgregor classic mallet.....both also brilliant.

I've been sticking with the mallets over the winter, but am planning to go back to the classic putters for the summer.
Heavier is better on slow winter greens i.m.o. the rest is up to you.

I know 2 truly superb putters, one uses a Titleist Bullseye, the other uses a £5 Dunlop mallet from sports world.

Just goes to show it is just what gets the job done for you.

Tracy 2 is a nice putter.

Blade for me. And yes, it is a beauty contest, as if I can't stand looking down on it, I am not going to hole many putts. That's why my two ball had to go, and I ended up with my scottys.
