If a marker post is in the general line of play (i.e. I might possibly hit it with my next shot, rather than an obstruction interfering with my ball / stance), can I remove it before playing?

TIA

Ha! We have some BIG posts on our course. I remove them quite often (once every 3-4 games, sometime more than 1 in a round).
It always makes me laugh. If I take it out and play the shot, I'd never have been even close to it. If I leave it in.....well......I HAVE hit them.

We have one at 200 off the tee on our fourth. I wish they'd simply take it out and put something bigger and higher (like 270) on the central corner of the dog-leg.

I've hit it SO many times, and 90% of the time, the ball flies straight right and leaves no shot to the flag. :D
