Right, Bunkers, Farneyman and myself are all heading off to Machrihanish for the weekend. We're playing in an Open competition on the Saturday at Machrihanish for the pricely sun of £20 entry fee. The Sunday sees us head off to the marmite course, Machrihanish Dunes, a course I love and appreciate yet one which nearly broke golfcitydweller reducing his to a teary eyed snotty school wean!

Saturday is competition time. Who will shoot the lowest net score?

Bunkers, down to 14 now (I think)and the last I saw of him swinging it very well, a steady player who doesn't do much wrong in my opinion. That said I spoke to him yesterday and due to a new job he ain't been playing much and in his words, his game is terrible.

Farneyman, down to 16 I believe and surely the form horse and also has the obvious advantage of playing his golf on a links course. Smashed his handicap last week and hit buffer with an 8 this week. The occasional wild drive seems to be his downfall.

thecraw, up to 6 this year and suffering from a severe lack of golf due to young family, only played once in the last 20 days however I did hit some good and some crap in that round. Machrihanish is my favourite course in Scotland and I hope it inspires some decent golf.

Based purely on your write ups I have gone for bunkers. Good luck to all of you though and have a great time.

I've gone for Farneyman after looking at the weather, I think he'll shoot a net 70.

Good luck to all, play well and enjoy yourselves :)

Right give me my wedge back then!

Right give me my wedge back then!

No, it's all mine MWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA :D :p

Na, seriously, I must have been looking at a different forecast mate. I saw that it was to be cloudy and calm. If it is to be wet and windy then I change my mind to you as I suspect that you'll be better able to control the ball in the wind.

i was gonna take u down with us when we go back to play it later ...well that`s if i ever get ma `voucher ` of course ...swing easy .oh and how`s ur puttin - u still got the yips !hope u du better than u did at scotcraig ...chuckin clubs etc - disgraceful conduct -i`m gonna go for `bunkers` due to ur lack of golf .swing easy

I don't NR dodger, I'll put in a cricket score before I Nancy Regan.

Cheers Craw-bag...Looks like a two horse race then! Hope the pressure of being the bookies favourite won't affect your breathing at the top of your backswing too much...

Underdog suits me fine, nae pressure! Nothing to worry about then!

Can I now add in the folowing information, I'm now doing an extra shift on Friday night into Saturday. 1800-0400 then driving to Machrihanish at 1000 and then golf. I think I'm going to be rather tired.

Caffine hits all day for me. Ach sleep is over rated anyway!
