I've been playing some good stuff (for a 20 hcp) recently.

But this weekend was something else.

Friday - Had a Handicap Singles Match (matchplay) - Won 2 and 1 and shot an 86 in the process. Really good match. I was 2 up after 2 then he pegged me back and he was 2 up after 10. Managed to claw my way back and closed it out on the 17th.

Saturday - Placed third in a club strokeplay comp. Thought I was in with a shout for first. Shot net 66 (86 gross, CSS 71) (40 out and 46 back). I was out early and just as we came off the 18th the skies opened up and it chucked it down all day. But a mate of mine managed to shoot a net 64. But still got me a nice 1.5 shot handicap cut :)

Sunday - Friendly round with a mate and shot an 88.

Yesterday - Another round with a couple of mates and shot an 84. (41 out and 43 back) with an 8 on my card from the par 5 16th . That's my best round yet by 1.

Odd thing is my driving is awful right now. I'm hitting more GIR's than fairways. I just can't believe how well, and how far, I'm hitting my irons.

Can't wait for this weekends comp. Maybe another cut on the way. I hope :D

Well done. Just remember though it will come to an end with a shuddering bump but until that happens (hopefully in December when its cold and wet anyway) enjoy the ride. Imagine what you'll be scoring once you get the driver working

I know that feeling all too well homer.

I've worked hard over the winter on my irons with my pro, probably neglected the old driver though.

I've started to consistently post sub-90 scores over the past few months but haven't been able to play any comps to see if it holds up when it matters and get the hcp cuts I'm after.

End of last year I'd shoot sub-90 maybe 1 in 10 rounds. Now I'm shooting sub-90's 8 in 10.

I've had a driver lesson with the pro last week and it's starting to behave a bit now. The bad ones aren't anywhere near as bad, but still needs some work.

But I know how cruel the old golfing gods can be.
