So after my lesson last week and a fruitful range session on Wednesday I played on Thursday like a knob, granted it was cats and dogs. It comes down to this weekend of medal on Saturday followed by my first ever appearance in a pairs comp on Sunday, it's knockout 4bbb stableford. The pressure is on! My partner and I both have to play off 24 while they are off 16 & 14! If I play as well as I know I can we have a very good chance as my partner is very steady and can be counted on to rack up a good few points, I on the other hand can blow very hot and cold! Fingers crossed I don't let him down!

You'll both have good and bad shots just try not to do it at the same time! Hopefully a good medal round Saturday will settle you and you can enjoy!

Good luck mate. Just remember, If its raining, you will at least look the best out of the 4 of you. And yours won't have cost an arm and a leg....

You both have 48 shots to play with! Massive cushion and safety net, just enjoy it and don't follow a bad shot with another bad shot!

The key in competitions, as for practice rounds, is to think your way round each hole and not blindly try to hit each shot without a plan of how you intend to play the hole...which probably explains why I'm still stuck on 28 handicap:whistle:.

Well up early today with the kids, bag already and shoes cleaned yesterday! Tee off at 930 so planning on being at the club for 815 plenty of time to get warmed up and get rid of all the bad shots on the range beforehand. Only one shot a hole each as its 3/4 so must use them wisely!

Well we lost it on the last! Evens most of the way round the front then lost 10th and 12th to go 2 down. I didn't turn up until this point apart from halving the 9th. The tides then turned and finished the 15th one up! Which then gave straight back on the 16th. I missed a short putt on 17 to go one down and we messed the 18th to lose that hole too! My partner and I didn't play great but neither did our opponents and missed good opportunities to take advantage. So disappointed but will def go in for the winter pairs!
