Check Gamoloa golf. As many grips as you'll want http://www.gamolagolf.co.uk/acatalog/GolfGrips.html
Went down the range this morning, popped into the direct golf attached after I finished and tried some putter grips.
At first he gave me 3 different putters.. 2 odyssey (my current is odyssey) one had the superstroke slim 3.0, one was the 2.0 slim and last was a dunlop with a grip simular to the winn's they stock.
tried a putt with each, 8 feet approx.. nailed them all (if only it was always that easy)
he then watched my putt some more and got me to try an odyssey blade style with a 2.0 grip
I then tried my normal putter against them and mixed results (standard)
I mentioned I sometimes get shakes in my wrists.. not out of a nerves just random at times he got me to try this odyssey fang putter with a 2.0 sized grip thats got counter balance at the top of the shaft.. nailed 4 putts on the bounce with it.. felt good. (resisted the temptation to thrown down the credit card and buy it for £189) He explained that with more swing weight and a bigger grip, my wrists should shake less as when holding something lighter thats when the shakes can come in.. anyways he put the putter on the device that measures swing weight and it was a lot different to my current putter.. so I said id like to go for the superstroke mid slim 2.0 as I have small hands so the 3.0 might be a step too far for me over time.. had it fitted and the swing weight has gone up by 5 which should suit me down to the ground.
looking forward to trying it out on the course
Good luck. Sounds like a plan and a cheaper version although only a matter of time now you've had new putters in the hand before you give into the inevitable
Sounds like a step in the right direction, I havent actually chosen a new grip yet. Been messing around with the putter now its turned up and I am enjoying the thinner grip so might stick with it until a comp comes along and then that will be the true test.bit of a follow up
first round today with the new grip
35 putts so not totally awful
a couple of misses I would like to improve but for a first round its very positive
also sunk a 15 footer for par aswell which felt good
I was very tempted with the Odyssey fan type putter with the counterbalance tech from direct golf for £189. Putted lovely with that in the shop didn't miss a putt. I like this new thicker grip and today didn't feel any shakes over a putt. Think the grip and the increased swing weight helped me steady the ship. Of course some teething issues (3 putts on the 1st, but the first was down hill and went about 10 foot past so would have been hard to finish that off) but as you say step in right directionSounds like a step in the right direction, I havent actually chosen a new grip yet. I have the Odyssey fang 2 ball 35 inch and absolutely love it. I did see that Scottsdale golf had them at £89! But they only have left handed remaining. I would have been very annoyed if i didnt trade in a set for it in AG. I got them to price match it to £149, so got the putter for £80 in the end.
Having been an absolutely terrible putter previously, my putting is now on fire and from around 15 foot in, i am sinking a good percentage of them. The best part is I am no longer 3 putting, went from 3 3 putts a round to at the worst 1.
Edit: just found it on jam golf for £99. Not sure what they are like though..
