Best league in the world?

What a goal fest today in the premiership,undoubtably the best league in the world.I know we have too many foreigners in the league,and its not that good for the national team,however most weeks they certainly give value for money.Would we really get so much good football if it was mostly english players.

Well it's certainly top two, toss up between Premiership and La Liga for top dog. La Liga has best team but Premiership has half a dozen top sides as opposed to Spain's 3 or 4.
Personally I'd rather watch premiership but El Classico is the best club match in the world bar none.

We would get different football not necessarily any worse though, there would still be goals scored and good competition. If we keep rejecting our good young players for foreign players we can get used to never having a chance to win any major comps again.

4-0 down to Arsenal then pulled back to finish 4-4. Awesome.

According to the whining Frenchman "Huddersfield kicked Fabregas all over the field for 90 minutes" last week. Unusual, considering he came on as a substitute. Tosser!

That's a real part of why the Premier League is so rich. There is huge appetite for our "brand" of football all over the world.

Completely agree with that! Hence, why I am also a Newcastle fan (apart from being raised as one!). Not always the best, but always entertaining!!!!

I left home with everton 2-1 up against balckpool to arrive at the pub to find them 3-2 down. To say i was pissed off would be an understatement!

What a game it ended up being, by all accounts saha was a beast today, just hope he keeps fit and keeps banging the goals in.

Can't wait to see MOTD tonight.

take it you saw the game midweek then Homer?..poor game,Newcastle created little of attacking note but thought defensively did ok............just knew Duff would do us!

Hi Wolfman, got back from the Wolves game about an hour ago and am still on a high.

Went to the cup game last week against Stoke and they were an absolute shambles.

Watching the Wolves is a lot like playing golf, you never know what kind of perofrmance you are going to get.

How's Oxley these days? I was a member there in the late 80s, was in the bar there when Bully scored on his England debut against Scotland. The whole bar went mad.

Hi ya - Oxley's not too bad thanks - if ever you want a game just shout. I work in Telford by the way so I know the shropshire tracks pretty well.

Anyhow my dad works at the Wolves, has done for years, he offered me a ticket for the match and i was so gutted after Bolton I said no.
Probably for the best - if i had of gone we would have got stuffed.

Off to watch match of the day now. May be we will get more than our usual 30 seconds but it will all be about how off Form man utd were and how many players didnt perform for them as god forbid we should ever get any credit

I live and work in Telford, I'm about 5 minutes walk from the Shropshire GC.

I play at Worfield, got a medal to play tomorrow. Can't say I'm looking foward to it as the winds blowing and there's quite a bit of rain about.

I wouldn't mind a game at Oxley sometime, I haven't played it for 15 years or so. I'll be in touch when the weather is better.

Diaby - needless red card and turned the game
Kszlcnzjy (or whatever it is, get a proper name) - needless penalty
Rosicky - needless push and penalty
Rosicky - needless barge and free kick

A truly unforgettable afternoon in a place that's not exactly short on remarkable events...

To be fair though, the 2nd penalty wasn't a penalty.

But the other 3 I definitely agree with and it was definitely a spirited fight back by Newcastle and they deserved the point.

Having said that, still not really sure how Nolan stayed on the pitch though, for effectively taking Arsenal's keeper down to the ground in a headlock, it was as viscious as Diaby's offence. Whether or not the keeper was keeping the ball doesn't come into it (especially at that stage in the game, it's not like it was the last minute!), you simply can't attack another player and get away with it, but The Toon did.
