Sneaked off for a quick 18 holes round my local course today (par 70), absolutely perfect conditions, no wind, soft ground and I was ready for it!!
After my 2 recent good rounds (90 & 89) and HJS warning me the course will bite back soon, I shot a 97 (nett 75) on the same course last friday, armed with my recent lesson on my driver in which i learned i was swinging it outside in which was causing the bad fade/slice, i set off in good stead this morning.
2 and 1/2 hours later and i've walked off with a gross 84, nett 62!!! This includes a lost ball and 2 train wreck 7's on easy par 4's.
This also includes only 2 fairways hit & 31 putts, 5 of which lipped out or stopped an inch short, so this could quite easily have been a sub 80 round
Anyway, even though i dont have an official handicap i have decided to cut myself down to 18, but i've just spoke to the pro at the course and i think i'm going to join the club there.
Indestructable good mood
