Earth Wnd and Fire's cover of the Beatles Got To Get You Into My Life was brilliant.
Saw it live many years ago on tv, they really "Performed" it!

By that, do you mean horribly out of tune, worse than a drunken karaoke singer?Springsteens version of Santa Claus Is Coming To Town is certainly unique.

Nothing churned out by PSB qualifies as music, so of course it was correct to fail you all.Btw, I once failed a music exam in school by arguing that the Pet Shop Boys version of You are always on my mind was better than Elvis.
Not sure if my argument was wrong, but I think everyone who went PSBs way got a fail that day .

Quite a lot are covers of unsuccessful songs originally or not that famous. Personally I like covers of hits that are a little different. It came number 3.
I was surprised by how many songs in that chart were covers. A good number, I thought were originals.
Just been reading through the whole thread with this on my mind from the start. You beat me to it.I think my favourite cover version of all time would be Joe Cockers version of with a little help from my friends mainly due to it been the theme tune of one of my favourite programmes growing up (The Wonder Years)
Yep. Exactly the same here. Best cover ever. Imagine hearing that at Woodstock. Mind blowing soul version of a previously inane pop song by an overrated boy band.Just been reading through the whole thread with this on my mind from the start. You beat me to it.
Definitely agree with this. If you are going to do a cover, do it differently. I love some of the ukelele / Hawaiian covers. Hallelujah and Somewhere Over the Rainbow have been done this way, they work brilliantly.Quite a lot are covers of unsuccessful songs originally or not that famous.
