Southern Dunes and Celebration are good courses, you'll love the level of service that you receive. Get your clubs from the car no problem sir!, need your shoes cleaned, order your halfway house via wi-fi on the buggy. All great when your on holiday.

I was a member at Saddlebrook (just north of Tampa in Wesley Chapel) for a few years, phoney or not you will be treated well at most places, remember lots of the working kids are students and rely on your tipping good service.

Now yo'all have a good trip ye hear, and come back and see us all real soon.

Have a nice day yo'all.

Just a thought, your airline may well carry your clubs for free, but if not most courses hire a range to top brand clubs, you'd be able to check this on their websites.

Dont worry about the Gators once they reach 8 foot they are generally removed!! Its the snakes in the swamp areas you need to watch. Mrs AAC had apaplexy when one slithered over her foot when we were dining Al Fresco.

little bit off the beaten track, but Old Corkscrew near Naples is a fantastic track. a Jack N Signature course that is in my top 3 courses ever played. service, condition and quality is top draw.

Wish I was going back sometime soon!!

Played Falcons Fire in Orlando, pretty average, and Key West GC is just different...

I played the National Course at Champions Gate, which wasn't as good as I expected but still good all the same. I found it pretty cool the carts had GPS in them as well as towels and the like! Other than that Southern Dunes and Orange County are supposed to be fairly decent tracks

thanks for all the info, looks like il be busy for the next few days, never thought about sawgrass, thanks for the reminder

Heading to Florida as well next May and looking to play so will be checking out the courses mentioned.

Can you play Sawgrass on a green fee? I thought i read you could only play if you were staying at the hotel. Would love to take a trip up and play it if you can.

just had a quick look ,it looks like you can book a tee time without having to stay, $400 around, they do a triple stay offer where you can stay and play 3 rounds For $390, going in sept so cant join you

$400 for a round?? Just so i can dump a couple of balls in the water on 17, no chance:mad:

Sounds like a decent deal if you stay but not sure the war office would be too happy me disappearing for a couple of days

Most courses will do you a deal if you phone and book a few days in advance. We travel there in February so perhaps it is quieter, but we never book in advance and have always managed to get a discount for two fourballs.

Played the International at Champions Gate and thought it fantastic.
Played all three courses at Reunion Resort, the Palmer and Watson courses are great, just thought the Nicklaus course was too demanding to be enjoyable on holiday.
Southern Dunes is a must when golfing in that part of Florida, fantastic value for money for such an enjoyable golf course.

I was going to go over before Christmas this year but too busy with work, fully intend to go over next year sometime.

Have a great time when you go

I played Celebration, Falcons Fire, and Orange County, a few years ago, got to say if i could only ever play one course for life it'd be Celebration, even driving into the 'community' that is Celebration is worth the visit, but the course was fantastic. Enjoy your break when it comes.

If you play Celebration, the driving range is worth a visit!

All I'll say is shop around to get the best green fees. We were there last year and the missus spent over the odds for a round, didn't really care as she was shelling out! :-) but make sure you check the discounted tee times website before you book. Granted a lot of the top courses won't be on them although you will be surprised the amount of decent to good courses that are. Anyway happy golfing!
