What is the best colour for a golf flag, my club uses a yellow flag and a blue flagstick, what about your courses or preferences? Does it make any difference?

We have yellow on the front and red on the back.

One club I used to play at had a plastic ball on the flag stick, i.i.r.c. the higher the ball the further back the flag. You can't see it on the long holes, (unless you have amazing vision) but from 150 yds in it's helpful if you are between clubs.

We have red for the front of the green, yellow for the middle and white when the pin is at the back. Sadly the white and yellow are very hard to distinguish. All our flags are embossed with the club log so actually look quite impressive.

I'd love to see the club invest in a one colour set (with logo) for inter-club matches and big events such as club championships. Make the course look even more special and give the event a ceratin feeling of prestige. Unlikely to happen given our committee but hey you can hope

Ours are chequered, black/white on the front nine, yellow on the back.

we have the sliding ball, which is fine if they are adjusted with the pin position, are left alone and will stay where they're put. Oh, and it helps be have binoculars!
