Benefit cheat golfer

It's an interesting story as I have a terribly painful back a lot of days, I can barely move sometimes I also have a bad shoulder, elbow, wrist and knee,... but I can play golf, especially if laiden with painkillers.

Have to admit that I've not recorded a 400yrd drive (that I know of) and lucky for all other golfers behind me I can walk further than 50yds in 15mins.

Can't raise his hands over his shoulder. That's one flat swing.

4 hours to play a 5,400 yard course is the real crime here. Must take an age putting.

I used to play with 2 golfers that were unemployed and didn't want to work but complained of
bad backs.
Every time they moaned about their backs I ripped into them telling them they can swing a club at
100 miles an hour but cant work.

They both now have jobs saving tax payers 1000s

There was one at my old club , had a disable allowance and a car but played golf , came to light some years later , claimed for everything and only work for cash , I got on with him , liked the guy but was told he now has cancer , sad to hear .

I used to go fishing with a bloke who was in his late 20's. We had loads of gear and caught some big fish but he complained he had a bad back but it was funny it was never when we went fishing. Anyway the jammy sod won 1.7 million on the euro lottery and stopped claiming benefits oh and he has never had a problem with his back since he won the money. Scum

Members of golf clubs who have been caught out for claiming benefit they are not entitled to, should be banned from joining any other club and kicked out of their present one. That would hit them where it hurts...Nowt better than working and paying taxes all week, then knowing you're paired up with the local lead swinger in the monthly medal..

why would you go fishing with the guy if he was scum? I think I see a touch of the green eyed monster.

Now if he'd of carried on claiming after his win...

that is a fair question and the wife use to ask me it all the time. My only real answer was I hated going on my own but in the end (before he won the money) I had enough of him and told him todo 1.

Couple of years ago I had a back problem. It was excruciatingly painful to sit, which gave me problems at work as a desk-bound IT worker. Strangely though, it was ok if I kept moving and I could definitely play golf. It was genuinely more painful sitting in a chair than swinging a golf club.

My back can be pure agony as I have Sciatica , but it never effects me on the golf course as long as I stretch properly etc.

However doing the dishes can be excruciating ;)

It doesn't say in the article and I don't know personally. The club he is/was a member of has been reduced from 18 holes to 9 in the last couple of months so my guess is he would have moved on anyway.

Dont agree with what happened in the OP , but id say most of us if we think about it know someone who is defrauding one system or another ,

Not sure his club could do anything about him, nothing realy to do with them , if he hasn't broken any club rules it would be hard to get rid of him .. maybe claim the club is harmed by being mentioned in reference to the court case , but that would be a long shot id say

Years ago, when we went to Italy, after a couple of days I could not lift my left foot more than 6 inches off the ground without excrutiating pain! But I had no problem swinging a golf club, nor carrying the bag! After flying back and then up to Edinburgh, I spent half the next morning lying flat on my back trying to relax the spasms! A trip or 3 to a chiropractor - and X-Rays to identify the cause - sorted it out!
