Ben Sayers or MD's?

Cant speak for Ben Sayers as never used them, but I did have a set of MD Superstrong Forged irons a few years ago and they were great and only £299. With Mick and Dave you get quality products at very reasonable money.

Md are good, better than the Ben Sayers clubs that I have tried but I would add Benross to the list. I used to love their clubs (woods especially)

MD. If I hadn't been more open minded when buying my irons I'd of had MD's. Didn't even give them a chance as I had Cobra, TM, Nike and Callaway in my head when I when to get them. I have tried them since and boy do I feel stupid. Could have saved myself about £250 and still played just as well (which isn't very well at all).

Quality shafts, decent grips as standard and a real solid club. Hard to beat the wedges for the money as well. You can save a good bit by buying the older wedges with non conforming grooves. You could go through quiet a few wedges before the rules come in at amature level!

I'm even tempted to get the older range forged Seve Irons at £150 just to give them a try but fortunatly I have managed to find restraint from somewhere.

If you fancy graphite regular shafts I've got a beautiful set of MD Tungsten Ti2 irons gathering dust. They are superb....Only used them 3 or 4 times before I stupidly bought a set of Mizuno MX200's.

I started off last year with Ben Sayers M9 complete set. It was a cheap way to get started as I wasnt sure if I would still be interested after 6 months. Well I'm hooked and have been steadily upgrading the clubs. The putter went first, then after some lessons showed that I could actually hit a driver sometimes I replaced that with an MD superstrong in stiff shaft. The M9 driver felt floppy to me and I hit my mates stiff drivers miles better. Since then I've replaced the woods and the hybrid with MD superstrong. The irons seem to be fine but as I'd changed everything else I thought I would swap them out and have a spare set for visitors.

If I was to do it again I would start with MD!

Of the two choices I'd have said it's a no brainer for me - MD > Ben Sayers every day.

But I'm a Benross boy myself, and have the VTXtreme 17* and 20* hybrids, the newish quad 4H and the VX6 irons 5 - SW.

I've had them nearly 3 years now (apart from the new additions) and, although I'm rubbish, the clubs are great for me to use now, AND they are good enough that they won't need changing even if I eventually start playing consistantly enough to gradually bring my handicap down.

They are great for a high handicapper, but I don't see any reason why a 12 or 13 handicapper would need anything better. (I'm not suggest a single figure, or cat1 player wouldn't need better clubs btw)

Either way, look for the quality of the shafts - that's a fairly good indicator of the overall quality of the components of the club imo.

MD's all day long. Quality product for very reasonable prices. Seve's rationale for getting involved with them was how they offered both quality & value, therefore opening up golf to newbies ( and not pricing them out)

Great service from the guys at Dunluce Golf too.

I took a leap of faith last year by selling my old vokeys and buying shiney MD wedges....haven't looked back since
