Guys, The belfry have the deal of the decade on.

For just £79 per golfer stay overnight during January and February and play 18 holes on the PGA National and 18 holes on The Derby course, plus dinner in The Atrium and a delicious English breakfast.

Vig and myself are going to Travel down on Monday the 19th of Jan, not quite sure of the details but expect to play one course in the afternoon, stay Monday night and play the second tuesday morning.

Does anybody else want to join us? This is a great deal IMO, you would pay this for just one course or even one nights stay.

Appreciate its a weekday but only time we can both play. If anyone is up for it, Post asap so we can book together if possible.

The link for anyone who wants a look

Ah Tony , if only.

Lost 2 weeks work before Xmas due to the flu and being self-employed I need to start clawing it back especially with the tax bill due at the end of the month.

We'll get together someday.

As its not really far enough for me to stay overnight, its a no from me mate. Also saving my annual leave to get some golf abroad this year.

Seems like a very good deal indeed, you pay £79 just for a normal B&B so to get it at The Belfry with a meal, breakfast and two rounds of golf is a fantastic deal.

I have played the Brabazon and it was very good, very fast and difficult greens. I have heard that the Derby is not very good but the National is meant to be excellent.

Enjoy it lads and let us know about your experience.

Sammeebee can I ask why?

It's just a horrible place and I do't like it but I hope you do...I'm sure you have somewhere you think is awful too....

1 OK course, 1 poor and 1 dreadful course - everytime I have been course conditions have been dreadful...

It's horrendously expensive when you get there - £79 is the hook the they'll get there money when you get there unless you are nil by mouth....Bel Air can be good but mebe not on a Monday unless you get lucky...

The staff in general treat you with general indifference....

I hope you have a good time but it's just not for me...

Its a tight month for me having just serviced the car and had the brakes done so It will be a minimal spend on my behalf.

They throw in dinner and breakfast so i figure

Arrive late monday morning, play up untill 3ish and grab dinner in the evening. I will probably grab something to eat before bed and then they provide breakfast tuesdsay morning and will play second course after that. Quick bite to eat before traveling home. How much could I spend?

Tony,

Everything will be 25-30% above what you'd pay elsewhere. I went on a similar deal to St Andrews Bay up here in Scotland some time ago. Golf and DBB. At the bar you needed a mortgage for a couple of pints and a couple of shorts. In fact one particular "normal" malt was £10 a nip. In the clubhouse the food was a little less expensive, but there was no change from £10 for two soups and rolls!

As someone has already said, thats the hook to get you in, they will still do well out of you if you use any of the bars etc.

Hope things work out for you, but just be aware !

Spoke to the guys at the Belfry today and they said It would be, Round monday stay and round tuesday. Have to talk to the sales team on monday though to get the full breifing but basically, they give you a tee time when they book your room.

So if anyone does want to join us, it would be good if we could book together. Prob looking at Tuesday to give people time to check with work on Monday.

Just one amendment Tony. It is the week after that I have off work. so it's 26th.

On the beverage front. I AM a Yorkshireman. I will be taking some beverage in. I don't need a cart bag to smuggle it in but.... We wouldn't have to stay there for a drink anyway.

DCB I went on a deal to St Andrews Bay about 3 years ago think it was £120 B&B with a round on each course.....superb deal but as you say the drink price is unreal,we ate in town but had nightcaps in the bar and my Brother in Law who is a farmer reckoned he drank the equivalent of a tonne of Barley that he sells to make the MacCallum he drank.....2 doubles whiskys at £36 a go!!Think single G&T's were £6!

Dodger,

Been there twice , each time on psecial early season deal. Was well prepared the second time ! A bit of extra bagage that had to be carefully carried to the room !

I was certainly disapointed with what was the Devlin Course, I far preferred The Torrance although they have revamped things up there I gather.
