Belfry fitting center

But it doesn't cost you £50 as long as you buy something, these fitting rooms are top of the range and they can't really be filling them up with someone who wants to go and have a knock with the new gear even though they have no intention of buying anything...

So they arent any different from anyone else - they offer free fitting with a purchase of a club - that should sort out any confusion.

Cheers

So a pro can fit someone up for over an hour to 2 hours and then the guy could walk away - say "nah cant be bothered to purchase it now" and they pay nothing ?

I remember Homer being fitted by the greatest fitting centre on the planet in his eyes and he bought a complete bag of Ping G25 clubs and still payed around £80 or was it £120 for the fitting... They pulled his pants down that day I tell ya.

How bizarre. You're having a pop about my Ping fitting. Never said it was the greatest place in the world but an honest and well run business with top quality launch monitor, adjacent range so you could seem some balls in flight and a pro/fitter who knew his stuff. As I was there over four hours, £20ph for his time was pretty fair. He then looked online and price matched the best price we could find for the cost of the clubs.

At least I got to try Mizuno, TM, Ping and Cobra on the day and didn't have to pay £50 per manufacturer. What happens if you try new clubs at the Belfry and the pros turn around and say there isn't really anything that is going to give you much more than your current clubs. Do you then pay £50 for the privilege of trying a few club shaft options or buy a set from one or another to offset the cost of the day. Seems unusual

Wasn't having a pop at you Homer, it was at the place you where fitted...

Your rant above is quite funny though almost like a school child, "At least I got to try" ha ha

Yeah your right though, your fitting center was good, well I say good they manged to sell you a set of irons you hated after a few rounds and it made them a few hundred quid

As I've said many times on various threads the G25's were bought when the swing was still in transition and a move back to a more GI model from my TM Tour Preferred was designed to help the process. Never said I hate them and lasted many rounds, many of which were very good. I just don't like aesthetics of the short irons. Now the swing has bedded in, I had a choice of sticking with the TP's (2008) or get something more up to date. I opted for the latter. The only mistake I made was being lured by the chance of new shinies and should have stuck by the TM's a few months longer. At least I have the honesty to say I made a mistake. RickG, Murph and many others buy sets and offload them a lot quicker than my G25's lasted. Don't see you questioning that. Strange

Like I said Homer it wasn't a dig at you and I actually like reading your posts and think your interesting even if a little strange, was just using the fitting centre you used as an example.

Get your i25's and be happy
