Shaft does make a huge difference. I was ballooning my AP1s with the DG stock shaft, switched to the PXs and had a nice penetrating flight. I also needed mine way upright and a bit longer. If you can get fitted at the manufacturers centre as some places are better than others at club fitting. Make sure they measure your hands and longest finger as grip size is important as well as wrist to floor.

They are 1/2" longer and 2* upright but I can't remember which steel shafts.
