I was looking at the show me your cash thread & saw Forum members played a meet at Beau Desert, what did you think of the course, just checking to see if its worth the just over an hours drive for an open they have on.

100% worth it. A group of us (30?) played in April last year and I'm gutted we're not going back this year if I'm honest! Great track.

Cracking track, It's quite varied with some great holes. I've been meaning to get back there since we played last year, I just havn't got round to it.
I'd certainly be up for a mini meet it anyone else was interested.

I'd definitely be interested but weekdays aren't good for me this year as I have very little holiday to use (might be better after April)....But I suspect getting on at the weekend may prove tricky unless there's only a handful of us.

Hi mate,

I would be interested in playing aswell if you plan on heading down there. Was intending to play last year but couldn't in the end.

Let me know if you fancy it and can see if we can get something sorted out.

Seems to be held in high regard so another one on the must play list!!! That tee shot looks quite scary is it a difficult Course to play.

I've played courses that are trickier but it's certainly no pushover and had my number. Some of the tee shots are rather daunting.

There's no water, but to be honest, it's hard enough without it!

at £65 a round it's not cheap, but i have played twice and the course both times was superb, i'd definately try and play again if possible.

weekends could be a struggle, tee times during the week are reserved for members between certain times both am and pm.

as for the opens if you can get in it's a no brainer, playing the course at it's longest at less than half price

I tried getting the normal 3 lads I play in opens with, but they said it was too far. Tried another 2-3 lads, but also no interest.

I think that the weekend opens have now been fully booked (they were bank holiday Monday options, from memory), but if some spares, would be interested in teaming up with someone.

Brilliant course. Just down the road from me and I have mates who are members. I get to pay for £20 with a member from time to time.

It'd easily make my top 5 courses I've played in the UK.

Very hard course, little room for error off the fairways and the greens are normally lightening.

That first tee shot isn't as tricky as it looks. All in the mind just think wide fairway, wide fairway, wide fairway...

Great vantage point after too, having a cold one on the balcony of the clubhouse.

Go for it!

Beaudesert is a stunning course,if it were in Surrey it would command a 3 figure green fee.Not cheap at £65-£75 a round, but as Full Throttle has pointed out, they run a number of Open Comps during the summer and you will be able to play the course at its best and longest for £25-£30,but these are filled very quickly.I'm playing an Open there in August, and we only just managed to book in,and that was just days after the dates were announced
First time i played there was in an Am Am in 2004.I hadn't played there before so played very conservatively and listened to my team mates advice,i managed to shoot level par,but i've played numerous times since and have struggled to break 80 every time.Hitting fairways and greens simply isn't good enough, you must land on the correct side of the fairways and greens if you want to score well.

I have mixed feelings

its a great course with some tricky holes but as it was only about my 6th or 7th round ever I wasnt good enough so a lot of the holes I ended up picking up :(

stick to the fairways and your ok, the gorse is a git though as I found out as my ball always seemed to be in an unplayable clump :(

I would deffo be up for another meet there
