Beau Desert

I have mixed feelings its a great course with some tricky holes but as it was only about my 6th or 7th round ever I wasnt good enough so a lot of the holes I ended up picking up :( stick to the fairways and your ok, the gorse is a git though as I found out as my ball always seemed to be in an unplayable clump :(
Have I told you that you are going to love Woodhall Spa

If Woodhall Spa is tighter than the Duchess at Woburn, I may as well cancel now. Bloody dogleg par 3's !
It's not as tight Rich. But it has plenty more heather and sand. Lots more. Lots and lots more. All the stuff that young padawan Gibbo is looking forward to. Trust me. A dozen balls won't be enough for him. Two doz would be pushing it.

You taking 3 dozen then Smiffy?!? :)

Just because I can't make it anymore I can still wind up the oldies........

Errrrr I don't think I lost one ball around the Hotchkin last year. I lost a couple round the Bracken on the Saturday but none around the Hotchkin. The Bracken did have a couple of water hazards though (which I found. Twice)....

You're obviously not hitting it far enough if you're not losing any balls!

Need some lesson's from a few of the resident gorilla's on here, you'll be smashing it 300 yards into the rubbish in no time :)

a point up my arse (that doesnt sound right but hey ho  )

I am now a determined individual smiffy, we will have to have a wee side bet ;)

*edit* I have got 4 dozen balls at the ready lol

Very nice course, in immaculate condition. Very difficult to score well though I thought. I've played it 3 times now and the best I've done was 34pts and I thought I played pretty well.
If you're used to lightning greens with big slopes you'll probably do ok.

Just looking at their opens page, they have spaces left for...

Mixed greensomes on 7th May
Mixed scramble on 3rd July
Captains Charity Day on 10th July
Mens Pairs on 19th July (only 1 space in 1st tee slot)
Seniors AM-AM on 30th July (1 space)

Oh, actually, now that gary has mentioned it, it's tougher than I remember. The greens are very quick with a lot of big slopes. Had a nightmare. I'd clearly blocked it from my memory!
