How many lucky people who played at BD have played their home course since and been dissapointed with the condition of their course/greens?
I bet you left most of your putts short :)

I'm thinking thats going to be the case on Wednesday when I play. Beau Desert was a top top course to be fair and is highly recommended if you want to try real golf. Miss the fairways at your peril! :)

Or, looking on the glass half full side of life, you could take the view that this is why great courses are a treat to be enjoyed every now and again. I wouldn't want to play Augusta or Pine Valley or wherever too often cos' every other course you played would probably be a disappointment.

We're lucky that we have some of the fastest greens in Hertfordshire (stimping at 12 in the recent club championships after they were ironed). Plenty of contours, tiers and breaks too.

Played yesterday in the Autumn Cup which we won last year, nearly defended the trophy with 42 points (4BBB) just losing by 1 point :(

Beau Desert was a delight to play and I can't wait to play it again.

Our greens were up to over 11 on the stimp for members/guest day last week so I'm use to decent paced greens. I agree though that if you are lucky enough to play Beau, Woodhall, Bearwood Lakes etc or any top course regularly then going away must seem a come down. However as a golfer of limited ability, these tracks provide a great challenge to my game and can be enjoyed as a once in a while treat. The beauty of the surroundings often surpass any golfing expectations.

Tuesday I was playing Stevenage where they had just tined the greens, Thursday I was playing BD.
Friday I played the Greenwood at East Horton but to be fair to that for a new course it had an even roll. Then to cap it Saturday I had a wind down nine holes at my course, I don't think my course knows what a Stimp meter is!

(I don't think Stevenage at its best would equal a tined BD)

I played on Sat, and quite enjoyed it. It's still a nice track, the greens were ok, and on the whole, the condition is excellent.

It was just me, still having a mare.

Putter is hot though.
