Good grief, first we loose half the live races and then we have Suzie Perry who knows more about gadgets(apparently) than F1 "trying" to run the show and who's this Tom Clarkson fella and why is Eddie Jordan only on it part time!!.It really has gone from bad to worse from a few years back when Jake Humpfrey,David Coulthard,Eddie Jordan,Martin Brundle,Lee Mckenzie,James Allen were on the show, the coverage was excellent back then. The BBC should cut the stupid wage bill for some of their so called "stars" and maybe we would still being enjoying the tried and proven format of some of their programmes. Most of the golfs gone and now the F1 is crap on the BBC! :sbox: . Bring on the BTCC on ITV4 that starts next week that has excellent presenters and coverage..........

Agree with much of the above except for missing Jake Humphreys.

At least Suzi Perry has some background in motorsport rather than Blue Peter!

Ms Perry is doing just fine... Though I am not sure what background she has in motorsport aside from presenting it...

EJ is taking a bit of time away from his F1 work with the Beeb to allow him some more time for his other commitments... His charity 'work' is very important to him... Golfing wise I believe he is a member at Royal Dublin and living in Wentworth I am guessing he plays there also...

For what it is (a highlights show) it's absolutely fine.

I for one won't be judging their 2013 coverage until they have done a few live broadcasts. The Sky coverage is good, apart from Simon Lazenby being possibly the most annoying man in the world.

The two biggest assets in F1 broadcasting are Brundle & Ted Kravitz (or for some reason you didn't mention) and Sky has them both, and infinite sums of money to throw at it. Taking everything into account i still think the BBC do a decent job.

When referring to motorsport I am including two, as well as, four wheels where she has journalistic experience.

As for EJ and golf, I believe he may be a member at Sunningdale where his wife was a recent Ladies' Captain.

A friend was in charge of speedway coverage for Sky when she was the presenter...

Speedway is not, in my eyes, motorsport. First out the gate wins! Wow how exciting is that?

I was referring to her work on MotoGP & for the Telegraph amongst others.

I think she is fit so can stay for me. Never warmed to JH.

Was watching the end of the qualifying on sky this morning when they were having a chinwag, Johnny Herbert, Damon Hill and some other bloke who I am not a fan of already!

I stick to watching the races only as cant be doing with all the build up crap except for Martin Brundle doing the grid walk.

James Hunt was my favourite F1 pundit on the Beeb... Told it how he saw it without caring about being politically correct...

Also wrote a column for The Telegraph which was always worthy of a read...

Have warmed to DC having not particularly liked him as a driver...

DC is very good as a pundit. I also like Mr Jordan.

The beeb are in my opinion not very strong in the presenter stakes in a lot of areas. (MOTD being the major one for me)

never seen the attraction in F1 seems to more about the pit crew and mechanics than the drivers these days, was better in the good old days when they overtook each other and wore a polo shirt and goggles, now superbikes is a different matter proper racing and proper men doing a ton with one knee on the ground proper respect.

You've got to admit, Sky's f1 channel is far superior to what BBC ever come up with. They cover absolutely everything and in glorious HD. They've got rid of Georgia Thompson in place of the prettier Natalie Pinkham and Damon hill is every bit as camp as Eddie Jordan

I watched the last two GP qualifying and the last race on Sky and it drives me up the wall that Sky start the flipping programme 3 hours in advance of the action, then continue it 3 hours after it finishes. Thank goodness we have sky plus.

The BBC coverage circa 2010/2011 was truly superb and won awards. Sky is great but I agree with Mark G that it's a bit much. Truth be told it didn't need its own channel, Sky only did it to appease people who were angry that the BBC let them take the coverage away from free to air.

Was fortunate enough to spend some time with James Hunt as he used my club for a while. Told some brilliant stories of the life as a driver and afterwards.

Jake Humphrey left as his partner just had there first child, totally understandable. Can't imagine its the easiest job to balance work/life.
As for BBC coverage, won't be judging till after first live race.
F1 title, think will go to vettel, as much as id love JB or Kimi.

Bold statement but he'll be very hard to beat that's for sure. I don't think he's the best driver, he's just had the best car but that may be about to change. It's going to be interesting Ferrari, RB, Lotus, Maclaren, Mercedes, Even Force India are all in the mix this year, it's going to be awesome.

Suzi Perry, Moto GP & Colin Edwards. Some fantastic banter between them.

None of the F1 procession garbage. Soul destroying and 2 hours you'll never get back!
