Not that you should ever play with him again but if you do and need to play a provisional you should hold it up and say "I've called this one Betty".

A guy in the 4 ball behind mine in the swindle last Saturday shot 43 points of 19. He is young, and is clearly improving rapidly. The guys who played with him had nothing but praise for the way he played. He was off 21 the previous Tuesday, but got cut in the mid week medal. No mention of the b word. Justly so. Every dog has his day.

We had a guy win our net prize at the club champs with net 63, 67 (-7 and -3) off 19. Off course the bandit word was used but he has entered everything in site and being mentored by a Zimbabwe ex tour pro so is going to be much lower, the cut for winning this notwithstanding. I always believe if you are playing comps regularly and not deliberately protecting or hiding the handicap then anyone going out and winning with a low score is just the golfer having his day in the sun. Unless Gibbo does it at Woburn!!!!

I did try and explain to the idiot that he would not get much of a cut before when he scored 25 and 30 points probably no cut at all and after about 5 mins of arguing with him he decided to turn on me and say the golf ball i was using was illegal as it was not on the list. It was a dunlop tour pro.. It is full conforming golf ball. I asked him what list is he talking about and he waved me away... Do you see what i mean about this guy being a pain and talking to him is a waste of time.

Bloke sounds like a muppet right enough.
Just refuse to play with the fool and if asked why tell them honestly what a complete muppet he is.

I used to get it all the time and still do every now and again, mostly banter but I have had it a couple of times from people being deadly serious.
Rise above it and take it as a complement that your game is getting better faster than you thought.
