Of the golf variety of course, can anyone advise me where I can buy the small packs not the dozen or more packs of balls, you see the pics of them in a lot of advertising but they are somewhat invisible when coming to buy.

There a 3 or 4 I would like to try but do not wish to commit to dozen until settled on the ones that do it for me so to say, .

Also on lake balls what do grades Pearl. A and B mean

Many thanks kind folks

lake balls and picks ups are graded in to A and B basically just a condition grading which is subjective so one sellers A can be another persons B and vice versa.
There can be a few reasons for the conditioning marking discoloured excessive pen marks or bumps and bruises will mean heading toward B!

You'll be able to buy sleeves of balls in most golf & pro shops, usually all Titleist range, and the higher priced balls from other manufacturers, though sometimes through the range also.

The lady Golf shop in Edinburgh still sells sleeves of 3 balls

Commit to buying a dozen or 15 tho - its likely to save you some money and you will use them all cos you'll lose them or they will scuff up.

Best to start with something like a lady pinnacle - usually about a tenner for 15 balls. they are fine for a high handicap lady with a slower swing. Not too expensive and a donation goes to breast cancer charity. I also like precepts - but they are a bit more pricey. Other mid range balls which will probably suit you - Nike, Wilson staff, Srixon.

Body swerve high performance balls like titleist proV1s - the titleist DXT is a good ball for you tho - but its a tad expensive - especially if you are still at the stage of losing them!

have fun!

Avoid lake balls tho.

i don't think prov,s would suit her game, they are mostly designed for better players that can compress the ball and as you said they exaggerate any spin in the stroke, she would be better as you said for a ball designed for slower swing speeds or a ball designed for lady golfers.

yup - I reckon the lady pinnacle is an excellent choice! I still buy them just cos they are great value ;)

I seen a thing that said the compression of the ball makes no difference now as they are all roughly similar.

there is something about the ProV1 that just doesnt sound right when i hit it off the tee - instead of a ping i seem to get a clunk! Its the only high performance ball that i've experienced this with!

i play loads of foursomes and greensomes and really dont care about which ball i hit - if i'm with OMID or a male partner using a ProV1 then i dont mind using it as i am only hitting it into the green or putting with it. Its just a tee shot where i get a dreadful shot with it...most odd

if all balls are the same and do exactly the same job as in distance and spin rate on the greens why then are they not the same price and categorize the same and why them does titleist not just make one size fits all ball,is it market hype or are different balls made for different standard of player?

Try some full stops it makes reading your posts easier.

I never said all balls were the same I said that there is no discernible difference in compression, what I never added was that it didn't matter about swing speed so much either.

anyone tried nike karma - have read some good reviews on them

I am h/c low speed swing and so far not lost any balls - if anything gaining them as peeps keep giving me their finds............

so what you are saying is that someone with a low swing speed is going to get the same results prom a pro v ix,as a touring pro or very low h/c player?.

Like (mostly) everything in golf, it is all down to personal preference

Use whatever you like we play the game for fun after all!

Eh? I said that swing speed doesnt necessarily relate to compression (just taken me three posts to get there though )

If all other aspects are broadly similar then yes similar results can be seen. Have you never had check or spin and I assume that you dont have a swing speed in the same bracket as a pro.

the speed generated around the greens and from 100 yds in is more comparable and obtainable for low h/c players to that of a pro as this is more of a technical shot.I was referring to the tee shot and the head speed generated is practically unobtainable by most h/c golfers to that of a pro.thus the ball is going to react very differently surly.
