Right where to start… Turned up a hour early on Saturday to get in the swing of things for a round at 11am, as I was told my name was down with a friends 4 ball as one guy is not turning up on a regular basis and I am looking for a regular 4 ball team. All good so far popped to the pro shop with the adrenalin starting to pump and heard the dreaded whispers "there's five of us" so I popped into the shop to check the names down and I wasn’t down 
walked out the shop to "discuss" the issue, this fella who was meant to be my mate half heartily offers his place in his 4 ball which I turned down due to half hearted attempt and said I would practice and stomped off with a red face and lots of anger. The worst thing was that it was Rabbits captain's day and I had a slot of 0752 which I cancelled because this fella said he had already put my name down grrr
Anyway he got pulled by loads of people who heard him last weekend promise me a game in his 4 ball and I have learnt a lesson. The good news is that though I didn’t get a game on Saturday but HID bought me some new golf trousers and by this time really couldn’t be bothered or wanted to be out a full day Sunday so I played a round (oo matron) with the wife, the best bit is the comp sec said HID could mark my card as a member!!! Bonus round to enter the Rabbits Qual the only exception was the rain that started for the full 18 and I lost 3 balls and ended with a net 69 (hcp 23) & gross 92 for you net haters
Lessons leant this weekend: 1) always put your own name down on games 2) HID can mark my cards 3) pack waterproofs when its going to rain.
