Love the idea of doing one of these... anyone had a go at a DIY version?

I once read up about how to go about it and never started it. Maintaining an ordinary lawn is enough work for me.

That is just a normal lawn with a hole and flag it in it.

Mind you I have played at least one course where the grass on the greens has been that long.

Pretty simple:
- mot type 1 base
- sand
- artificial grass (easigrass/tigerturf)
- edging

Depending on the desired size it’s manageable/a lot of work

I tried to do it. Although I was inexperienced, I managed to create this lovely green space in my backyard! But the first time it was not quite easy. I used to lay the artificial grass and the model of the artificial grass. It’s called Thick Turf Rugs or smth like that. I found its characteristics on this website https://valuehunta.com/best-artificial-grass/ and decided to lay grass in my backyard. It was the best solution.
This idea is definitely worth trying!

I did my own with artificial grass. I would say it is more labour intensive than complex. Lots of digging!

We're redoing our garden with artificial turf, but it'll be way too long to putt on. Might be able to do some chipping.
