Tour Winner
Played in my first away friendly today at Killiow GC near Truro.
Both myself and my partner played like complete donkeys that had never played the game before for most of the round and went down 5 and 4. Had a fantastic day and learned I MUST NOT play in a comp or on a new course or in a match, friendly or otherwise with a blinding hangover!!
Not the norm for me as I don't drink much but when your boss invites you out and is paying...well!
Anyway back to the course which was in superb condition from tee to green. The greens were quick, true and felt huge compared to what we have at our club but still very firm even with all the rain we had last week . One highlight was hitting a lovely 3 wood ontl the 211yard par 3 14th but missed the 30ft putt making par, halving the hole but losing the match.
The 467 yard par 5 9th is the signature hole with OOB all the way up the right and a stream and 3 pond up the left. Apparently it's the hardest hole in Cornwall and I can well believe it.
If any of the Killiow team members are on here I would just like to say thank you for your wonderfull hospitality and for sharing your outstanding course and club house with us.
