Ave seen a snake

Did it look like an adder ? Are grass snakes not allowed off the grass ? Anyone who's fished the grand union will know grass snakes are excellent swimmers .Do you speak in real life like you post?

Dont know what it was. Thats why i was getting my phone out. It was to small to see any zig zags on its back without getting to close. And that was not going to happen. Re speak. Nah its just get to the level of some on here. 😉

We had some at my last place. One bloke last year caught one on the 17th fairway and carried it off to the rough and chucked it in like he was indiana Jones. All caught on camera!

Over the years have seen plenty of Grass Snakes round my course. Seen Adders at Hankley Common, Orsett and Woodbridge.

An easy way to determine definitively what you are looking at is to closely look at the pupil of the eye. Grass Snakes have a round pupil but Adders, like other members of the Viper family, have a vertically slit (like an oval but with pointed ends) pupil.😧

Oh....and the colour and markings sometimes helps as well!!!😆

Plenty of snakes about but they mostly scarper when they feel
us coming.

I left a cardboard box outside the back door a few years ago. Went back later to pick it up and a nice big grass snake was having a kip in it.

We've seen a few Lords on the seniors tour, we call them the Canae Counts .
