I got us tickets to go and see The Bradshaws (Buzz Hawkins) on Friday night. We seen "them" before but not for many a year. A lovely little theatre in New Mills. First job on reaching your seat was to make a paper airplane and try and hit the target on the big screen on the stage. When the fella came on he had us laughing almost from the off. It's basically all about recounting your memories of your youth and the games you played until it went dark, with a few VERY funny songs ( and a lot if innuendo) thrown in. Great to see the wife laugh. Cracking night and all for £15 a ticket !!!!!

(psssst....don't tell the wife but we're going to see Tim Vine on Friday. He's gonna have to be on his game to beat this)

CF - You are in for a treat. I've seen Tim Vine and he is non stop, full value for money. I loved him but you have to like his type of humour.

Two of my favourites for just outright stupidity, Flag Hippo and Pen behind the ear. I hope he does them for you.

The wife loves Tin Vine but doesn't know she's going to see him. We missed his first lot of tickets, but when he added dates I quietly got some. Off to Lancaster on Friday. Out on the lash with one of her cousins on Saturday.

Seen Tim Vine twice, never lets me down. His usual support act, a comedy magician called John Archer (I believe), works better in a small venue where you can see what he's doing. Saw him at one of Birmingham's bigger venues and it was pointless.

i'm off to see another one-liner on Thursday - Stuart Francis on his farewell tour.

I like his one liners in small doses but a whole evening of them proved a bit much...

Saw both Tim Vine and Stuart Francis, both at small theaters. That is Key. I watched another in a massive stadium and it was no where near as good....forget the content....being so far removed from the person made it disappointing. Small theater made the world of difference

Not quite as critical but I feel the same about many music acts. Too many get lost in big venues. This is amplified further with comedians. I saw Peter Kay at an arena but I wouldn't see any other comedian in an equivalent venue. The smaller the better.
