Arsenal.

Please dont mention song or helb as great players?

Tactically, Wenger is last century. He just is. It's time to go.

The game has moved on. He hasn't.

We have money, there are many clubs with debts, we don't step in and buy top players cheap, we're still in the pound shop. Project Wenger failed once players started leaving.

We had a carling cup team that would have been top 10 premiership. Our first team is struggling to achieve the same.

I think Arsene's management splits into two eras.

He inherited a great back four, he placed two very good footballers in front of them, who also would not be bullied (Petit and Viera). Around them he had great players and good goalscorers (Wright, Wiltord, Henry, Overmars,Pires) and he had the right mix. He also a very good goalie (Seaman).

The turning point for me was when they were battered by Chelsea in the CC final, when he had the gaul (geddit) to still put his second string out in a final. I remember thinking as a Liverpool fan - if we got to a final, never mind to a local rival and our manager put that team out, I'd paid £60 for a ticket and we got battered, I'd be apoplectic! He had won lots in the previous years, and as well as "rewarding" the second string (with losers medals), I think he had then become blase, as the invincibles had only been a few years before.

He has tried to carry on playing in the same way, but without the steel he had in the earlier teams. He can bring young full backs and "tippy-tappy" players seemingly at will, but he has never signed a great keeper, centre half or midfield destroyer in the times since.

Arsenal's predicament seems to me like Charltons. I remember Charlton fans getting bored with Alan Curbushley. A lot of people said, but he has kept them in the prem for years, although never giving the fans a good cup run or any excitement. I could understand Charlton's fans being bored in the end. But look at how that one went. They got rid, and they went down 2 divisions.

I think it's the same with Arsenal, they could get someone in who may fix the faults, maybe improve them and even win something again. They could also go the other way, as dismantling a team, changing a style can go both ways.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

At least Arsene's troubles, take a bit of the spotlight of Rogers.......

SKY SPORTS latest**** after a 2 hour meeting between Arsenals board of directors and management, the following statement has been released from the club...............

"We, at Arsenal football club are pleased to announce that as from immediate effect the Arsenal trophy cabinet has been renamed......... The Cabinet"

;)

I do hope Arsenal keep Wenger for the foreseeable future as it's taking a lot of the heat off LFC at the moment.

I see a cricket score on the way and a P45 for Wenger.

Arsene = "Why do you look at me?"

Press Reporter = "Cos it's your press conference".

He then said he'd only take questions about the Bayern game and when asked a question about Bayern's defence said he wasn't going to take questions about Bayern!!:D

Comedy gold.

It looks like Arsenal will have a much less congested fixture list for the rest of this season.
This will enable them to concentrate their efforts and go all out for a prized Europa League spot for next season!

Slime.

Wasn't there also I hope we lose against Munich so you'll all be happy! Seems he got that bit right!

That's just like farting in a lift .............. wrong on so many levels!
If he wants respect, he has to learn how to lose graciously. He's had plenty of opportunities to practice that too!

Only managed to watch the first half - they got played off the park by a very good Team.
Listened to the 2nd half and it seems they were better but not even close to being good enough
3-0 or 4-1 at Bayern in the 2nd Leg?
Never in a Year of Wednesdays.....
