Areas around Dundee

Hi folks I posted last yeah about a possible move to the Dundee area due to Michelin Ballymena closing.
Anyway, I'm looking at house prices and they are shocking compared to here haha, we have a 4 bed chalet bungalow here worth about 150k. We need 4 beds and would like a small town village not to far from Dundee, but looking around 200k for a decent area with decent schools. Is that possible?
Thanks

Arbroath is worth a look, 20/25 minutes to the east side of Dundee, 200k will get you something nice. The High School has a good reputation, loads of courses within a 20 minute drive. Monifieth/Broughty Ferry also really nice places with good schools, a bit more expensive than Arbroath though.

I'd stay in Monfieth if i was you mate , schools ,golf ,beach and you'd get a decent house for that cash, i stay at the opposite end of dundee which is good also. I f your thinking Fife then Wormit and Newport are nice but the kids would go to secondary in St Andrews. Forfar and Arbroath ,no disrespect but i wouldn't stay there.

Thanks again for all the info folks, having spent much time over the holidays discussing things we have asked michelin to see what jobs are available in Dundee with the premise of moving this summer, hoping that Michelin will rent us a place until we get settled and find the right house to buy.
It's quite a daunting move for us as we are quite settled where we are, but its exciting at the same time, just need to find the right area for everyone, schools, golf, community groups church etc, so fingers crossed now that it all goes well!

Good luck sir! Sure it'll be a great move for you.

Friends of ours live across the river in Wormit. Nice small town and good access to the Tay road bridge. There's trains across too if you fancy. I believe it's a lot cheaper than Dundee itself, although I've never looked at prices. It's the right side of the river for golf as well.
