anyone from Dundee or surrounding area?

Thanks Steve will do.
Panmure is a bit cheaper than galgorm but I like the look of scotscraig. Hopefully I can get my sticks over with me next year for a run round it :)

i think you will be even more surprised how much a St Andrews Links trust ticket is;)

Wow that's canny cheap :o
What does that give access too then?
Full course 7 days a week ,your £50 bar levy is included in that so a no bad deal. St Andrews Links having a waiting list of over 700 Patrick, its only cheap if you stay in the St Andrews boundary

Links ticket is access to 7 courses in the St Andrews links trust. Realistically there's only 5 you'll want to play. :)

There are so many permutations of links ticket and club membership that it's quite difficult to give an exact price but basically it's anywhere from £200 to £900 for a links ticket depending on where you live and whether or not you're a member of an affiliated club. Being a St Andrews resident means very cheap golf but house prices are stupid compared to what they are a few miles out of town.

There's a waiting list though so it's not all rosy.

If I were looking at a club as a newcomer now I'd go for Scotscraig but due to friends etc. I'm rooted elsewhere.

Ah ok, I see. In all honesty I think if I move then scotscraig will be on the list, St. Andrews maybe if I get a chance to head that way, and hopefully get to play carnastie too
