Are you impressed?

Played with a guy called Geoff the other Sunday. I was mesmerised all the way round at how effortless he hit the ball miles and straight down the middle. He kept well away from danger and just hit middle of the green everytime. Nobody was noticing how good he was doing as it was almost boring watching him play as you knew exactly were the ball was going. Learnt a lot from him that day. He was off a 12 handicap but plays like a 2-3 handicapper. Oh and the majority of old boys who can't hit it far but are straight as an arrow, make it look simple. Learnt loads from the old boys too. I live in hope someone says they are impressed by me.................... Oh and homer too for me is mr consistent driver I think (he won't) and his putting is solid too made me realise I'm pants.

I can't think of any Geoff's at RAGC that fit that description so it can't be anyone from there?

I occasionally play with someone that hits a 4 or 5 hybrid of some kind when I am hitting a 9 iron. And more often than not he gets down in 2 from there, 3 maximum as he is a great putter and has learned how to hit a slicey 5 hybrid very close to the hole. I tell you, if he could drive it further than 150 yards he;d be a single figure handicapper

Drive4Show is probably the best driver of a golf ball I have played with. Decent distance and incredibly straight. He can actually pick which side of the fairway he wants to finish on, and do it consistantly Not many golfers you can play a scramble with, when you have to use three drives each, and leave them to drive the last three holes. Not me for sure.

What is this......guilt trip after what you said about my chipping?

And you forgot to mention we birdied 2 of those 3 holes in the scramble :ears:

I played in the roll up on Saturday with our club champion, a 19 year old lad. I was indifferent when he turned in 2 over, but his 6 under back nine of 29 was quite outstanding. His six birdies were from 4 feet, 15 feet, 15 feet, 3 feet, 2 inches and a foot.

I love the tempo of Hawkeye's swing. It never looks rushed. There are some at my place that have agricultural looking swings and get it round but their short game is very good which is why they maintain single figures

I'm reckoning he was having the game of his life but I trust you he is a real member and not a fictional hero. Won't say his second name for security/privacy reasons as he may be wanted by Interpol. He may go under a different name if he has ever played with you :)

regularly play golf with a young boy off 4 , he plays a low hop & check chip shot pure class .. the way he strokes the ball seemingly effortlessly around the golf course is a joy to watch

Seriously impressed that anyone south of Bradford can pull off a look like this with such ease!:D

Or that there is possibly some colours missing from Rick's outfit

Or that this young man was awake past 10pm - although not for long!

Or that this club can actually get away with charging a joining fee

Credit where credit is due. Now lets get back to your chipping ......;)That was because we were hitting the second shots stiff, or holing the putts.:ears:
