If you were to ask yourself, "am I honestly happy?", what would your answer be?

If yes, what makes you happy?

If no, what do you have to achieve to make yourself happy?

Yep happy

My family and loved ones make me happy

Happy to a degree. Got a new house I own outright, lovely wife. Some health issues for both of us and HID's parents and miss both of mine terribly. Other than that, I have a job that is ok(ish) and some true friends. Lots a lot worse off than me

Yeah, I'm happy. Have 2 beautiful kids, a wife who makes me laugh and doesn't give me too much of a hard time. Got a decent, interesting job with prospects and enough time (just) to play golf.

The secret to happiness, IMO, is not to compare your situation to anyone else's or wish you had what they have.

The saying 'you cannot appreciate the sun unless you have been in the rain' is maybe true re happiness.

If you have been through the trauma of illness either self or someone close, the feeling coming out the other side creates the platform for happiness, maybe I should have said true happiness.

The initial grateful feeling being replaced by a period of acceptance that the worst is over BUT the new knowledge that life is but a lottery so enjoy, makes for lots of happiness and contentment in my opinion, as all previous major concerns now become very minor ones!

Take out the odd day to day problems and yes, I'm largely happy.

Married 39 years in a few weeks, great son and daughter in law, 2 fabulous grand children, decent house, my own business for 25 years. With the aid of a surgeon I'm now reasonably fit, play golf a couple of times a week, see my favourite footie team, some decent holidays mmmmmmm not much to moan about really, is there, compared to how someone like me, living in Syria might.

I'd like a better job, I'd like more time off and money. I'd like to be playing more golf and decent golf at that.
Would I swap anything to get more of the above? No.

I'm in good health, have the love of a wonderful woman (shhhh don't tell her I paid a compliment) We have a wonderful family unit with the kids keeping us busy and skint but the smiles on their faces and seeing how happy that makes HID is all I need to know I've got a good life. Which is topped up by being able to partake in my hobbies which are varied.

The only thing I'd change of i could is getting to see my 2kids from my previous relationship more but as they were moved over 200miles away that's not possible but that just means making the most of the time we do get.

Life is good and its what you make it, you get out what you put in. Secret to happiness is being content in what you have and working for what you want. Its happiness in the moment not always wishing you had more and never doing anything to get it, after all dreams only come true if you make them happen.

I'm happy

Got a decent life, go on holiday, eat out when we want, have a great family, don't have tons of money but we have enough to love comfortably

Could do with a better/different job but it's not the end of the world, since I finish at 1/2 everyday (been in the same job now for 15 years it's just getting a bit old now)

I've come to learn people are largely happy but would change some aspects of their lives, for example, I have a friend who has a great job, but he has to travel 3 hrs a day to and from his job so some days he's working 6/7am to 7/8 at night so that makes him unhappy at times but he's otherwise happy

Yes, happy and content. 43 years married to a great woman never ceases to surprise and educate me.
I have had a busy and full life, fulfilled all my ambitions and now taking a peaceful retirement.

I would say I am happy, my needs are modest and I have enough for my needs. There are plenty of things I want but that is more about ambition for the future and something to aspire to. All my family are in good health and all of the issues they face on a daily basis are minor, and they are all I am concerned about.

Lifes good , glass half full.

We'll when I consider at this very moment I am looking over the beach in Costa Teguise Lanzarote waiting for my breakfast to be made then today Yes I'm happy. It will not last though it is work again soon for the biggest set of Sherman's I have ever known. Ask me again next week!

Yes very happy. Lovely husband, lovely life and consider myself very fortunate. Can't say there's anything I hanker after except maybe less rain and warmer weather right now!

I love this answer mate ,

am i happy ? not every day but im happier alot more often than im not ,

Moderately so I guess.

I'm young, healthy and having an amazing family, including still having four grandparents which I'm very thankful for. Lovely girlfriend who's just about keeping me out of trouble.

Really dislike my job though and considering it's where I'm at the majority of the week it's becoming pretty soul-destroying. No prospects for change internally and despite applying to 100's of things externally, still no luck at the moment. The amount of time I'm at work also means that it's harder to look for something else and as I live down here several hundred miles away from the aforementioned family, can't afford take any time away to look properly, or even retrain, as I've got to pay rent and bills each month and don't earn enough to have any savings.

A couple of things to hopefully look forward to. Going home to see family this weekend, holiday with girlfriend in March. Also debating looking at doing my PGA stuff next year dependent on getting down a few more shots. Under no illusion that I'll never be playing for a living but feel like I'd have the right temperament to teach and think the course would potentially open doors towards working in other areas of the industry. At the moment, I can't get a break in the golf industry as I have no career experience in the area, but I can't get the experience in the first place to get a break so it just ends up a viscous circle.

Hey ho, it's the euromillions tomorrow, finger's crossed.
