Hitter, I think. At least that's what it feels like to me.

having seen you 'hit' them past my drives (think yours was still on the way up when it passed mine) I would agree

one thing ive never been able to teach myself / understand is the concept of starting the downswing slowly and accelerating through the ball.

once I swing slowly to the top, I drive hard with the lower half and hit as hard as I can! I don't feel like I have enough time to generate speed if I start down slowly.

Was a hitter, but getting lessons just now and he wants me to swing the club and let the ball get in the way just like you say. It took me to my last lesson to realise that hitting it harder didnt make it go further

The swing thought is to let the ball get in the way of the shot, but then that just makes me conscious of the ball. Think I may be a swinger with the big stick and a hitter with the irons.
