Are you a golfer?

I recently had some unwelcome news from a Doctor and when he told me I had an obstruction, I immediately thought of rule 24 and whether it was movable. That's when I knew I was a golfer

I would consider myself a Golfer once I am a regular player, and that is regardless of handicap.

The more I play the more I learn, the more I learn, the more I research techniques and exercises to improve my Golf the more I become a Golfer

As long as it wasn't a rabbit scrape. Then he'd have called the police.

I'm defo a golfer, even if I played off 36 I'd still consider myself a golfer.

It's the only sport I am quasi good at and improving. Its the only game I can think off where the goals posts move i.e 100-90-80-70's.

I love the game and the game loves me, actually i'll correct that the manufacturers love me.

The day you step up to the first tee in the rain and continue to play then you are a golfer. Otherwise you are just someone who likes walks in nice weather.

Agreed - looking out the window in December and seeing Frost covered grass and thinking - "Its still playable"

Only a golfer would be mad enough to go out.

I'm out voted at home!

HID says:

"Yes i do, because i play golf, have a handicap and am a member of a golf club i guess."

I'm a golfer just not a very good one. The same with club cricket, football and all the other sports I tried. I was a a footballer.....

I think there is no real definition between a pro golfer, top amateur or first time chopper other than the degree of ability

All Id like to say on this subject,is that if Im not a golfer, where is all my money going?I live and breathe golf
enjoy every second and donate most of my money to well
established charities like,Mizuno,srixon,yes..Am I a golfer,
the answer is NO,but Im getting closer..

I think it has more to do with your attitude to the game.

If you appreciate the game and conduct yourself properly on the course then you are a golfer, regardless of how good/bad you are/are perceived to be.

Well summed up Curls, that's pretty much what I would say.

Always tended to think that a player who can play to around 18 or less is a golfer, and someone who cant is someone who plays golf.

We have a member who was 90 earlier this year. When he was in his 30s he played off 11. He now plays off 26 and plays 2 qualifiers a week.
HE'S A GOLFER.

My first handicap was 18, it has crept up to 19, does this mean I WAS a golfer but no longer am?
Or does this mean I've never been a golfer?
Also I'm not overly fussed if my handicap doesnt get lower, does this mean that if I was a golfer then I may never be again??
I've also just checked my passport and it says nothing about occupation, does this mean I am nothing???
In all seriousness tho, I am a club golfer with a recognised official handicap so therefore I'm a golfer, fact!
And anybody else who loves the beautiful game and can appreciate it, respect it and love it just the same is, in my eyes a golfer.
