Fancy a change of putter and have been leaning towards trying a YES putter. Mainly due to the good press they receive and a couple of people I know have one and speak highly of them. They also seem a decent price.

Anyone own or tried one and what thoughts on which is the best of the range to get? Can't find any in stockists round here so quite prepared to go on advice and get a decent one to give it a bash.

Are they worth a shot?

It is an entirely personal thing but for me when I swapped to my scotty it was most definitely a change for the better.

Always always try before you buy. With any club. But even more so with a putter. What suits one person will not suit another. What length do you need, a mallet or a blade? How do you put in-out-in, or straight back and though? All this has to be taken into account. On top off all that how does it feel in the hand? Do you see where I am coming from, the best way to waste money is to buy without trying.

Definitely try before your buy. I was going to get one after reading all the reviews and peoples comments but, after trying them out I just did not like the feel / weight - or the feel of the ball off the face.

Also worth trying local driving ranges to see if they have shops attached that stock them.

Love mine. Wouldn't swap it for anything else.

Which one you got Gareth?

Know entirely what you're all saying and that's the advice I'd pass to anyone who asked me the same question, I just find that when I'm testing putters, I'm there for an age, end up with half a dozen I can't choose from and an head full of mixed thoughts. Thought I'd be brave and try another route this time. And yep I'm sure I'll be regretting it at some point..

One of the most popular putter designs is the Ping Anser.
YES golf make their own version called the Callie.
If you cant put with that, you cant putt with anything.
Just my opinion of course

a bit of a sweeping statement as putter comfort is as individual as handwriting.

I got a Scotty Newport studio select 2.5 which is beautiful and a joy to carry, but its not suiting my eye or stroke so I'm going to have to try a lot as well. Artificial surfaces in AG are totally useless for trying, get to a pro shop where there's a real grass green outside to try.

I have the YES! Robin.

Good solid putter IMHO. As others have said. Make sure you try before you buy.

I have had 6 or 7 sets of clubs over the past 20+ years and i have lost count of how many drivers but the one constant in all this time has been my PING putter,i had a new shaft fitted as i needed a bit more length to help my back and i have it re-gripped every year, but i would advise you to get fitted for yours and forget the latest trends or gizmos and get one that feels good and most of all gives you confidence lets face it it is most important club in the bag.

Tried a Yes Tracy earlier in the year but didnt really get on with it and have gone back to using one of my Scottys again. That said there are a few at our place who have Yes putters and swear by them - as has been said, personal choice a huge part of choosing a putter

I have had one for 2 years and it is good. There is a lot of rust spots on the shaft. I had a personalised fitting with a local pro. I said I need a 32 inch as I am 5ft 10. He is about 6 ft 2 " and has a 33 ".

Just something to bear in mind

Bob I know how I could improve your scores.....

I will give you this advice as you have given me plenty for free...

You have Taylor Made blades, Ping woods and the world famous gadget.... BUT!!!

No putter????????????

:o

I had the Amy a while back. Nice well balanced putter but every now and then the ball would come off the face like a rocket, totally unexpected.
In the end it just had to go.
I went back to basics and bought a Ping anser.
