Are preferred lies still on at your course?

As the title says,has your place still got preferred lies on?

They stopped on Monday but its done nothing but piss down since we came off them and when i played Tuesday the greens were starting to get puddles so i reckon they could be back on until it dries a bit.

It's one of the criticisms I have of our club.

There was no sign to say Preferred Lies started so there's no sign to take down to inform us when they're off...

I take it that once Hedgehog wheels are compulsory - Winter Rules begins
When Hedgehogs are off - so are Winter Rules.......

Am I right?

Yeah, on till 1st May but fairways are decent enough that no one uses PF. For now, pissing down yet again tonight so we shall see.

They reviewed them last week and they are still on - had been hoped they could remove them. It will be reviewed again in a fortnights time .

Fairways are looking fantastic now though so hopefully it will be normal play asasp..

Ours are on till the end of April, but the hedgehog rule ended 31st March.

Greens any better this week?

Not been down yet, think they will take a while to get better. Have heard all comps are NQ till end of month but not officially from the club. I'm going to play monthly medal on Friday after work so will find out what's happening then. How's EM playing?

We still have lift clean and drop on fairways only....Play as you lie everywhere else......The ball is still picking up a nice amount of mud on some fairways....

Still preferred lies through the green, but not in hazards

Ours come off from the 1st April irrespective of conditions. Daft really.

No but with the state of some of our fairways there should be.

Preferred lies end this Saturday. We hold a big amateur competition on the Saturday, Selbourne Salver, and the members then play the same course ,tees, pins, rolled greens the next day.

To qualify for the Salver, you would have needed a handicap of plus 1.2 or better.

Must admit I don't normally bother with preferred lies, unless it is a very poor one. My course being heathland drains well, so no soggy fairways usually.
