Are all putts over ten feet lucky?

I think there is an element of luck over a certain distance. Not sure if it's 6ft, 10ft, 20ft etc. But at some distance then there are too many external factors that are beyond your control or could reasonably factor in to the putt.

BUT, the better putter you are the more chance you are going to be setting it off on a good line with the right pace and giving a better chance of going in.

My take on it is that I'm trying to hole every shot and so if it goes in then thats the name of the game.

I don't think anyone is saying that we're not trying to hole every putt, we're asking if you expect to hole every putt and outside of what distance do you think that holing out becomes more luck than judgement..?

For instance, Darran Clark tapping in from a few inches to win the open was one he expected to hole. Do you think that Justin Leonard expected to hole his 100 footer at Brookline in 1999? Obviously these are two extremes but somewhere in between there has to come a point where you can't reasonably expect to hole out from, and at that point does holing out become more luck than judgement.

In my experience it certainly does. But then I don't putt very well ;)
