Apple 8.1.1 upgrade a royal pita

Not at all, if you are going to pay top dollar for apple products, they should work as expected. There is such a wide range of phones and tablets that thtey are not really comparable

So you expect Apple to make their software compatible with every router, computer, smart TV, streaming box etc etc in existence, not to mention all the organic blobs on the user end of them?

I have used Apple products for years, including iPhones, iPads, Macs and loads of peripherals and I find them pretty reliable and I keep coming back for more.

As for top dollar, do you consider the Surface Pro, Xperia tablet and Samsung Galaxy bottom dollar? They are priced in the same range as the iPad. Yet people don't moan as much when they or their software doesn't work probably or has security issues.

In many peoples eyes Apple are the pinnacle of phone and tablet tech, therefore it's not unexpected for them to get annoyed when their £700 iphone has problems!

Lollipop has just been a world of pain for my family, they are all suffering with apps that uninstall themselves or just plain don't work. Some users have got away with it.

Me on my cheap old Hudl seem to just be cracking on... stuck back on 4.someting.something.

I am not one for tablets really but I have one for the convenience, I prefer ripping out the guts of my gaming rig and building it back up for better OC benchmarking scores.

I expect technology to work when I buy it. Invariably I find something that doesn't work the way I want it to, but that's usually a design/operator issue not a fault.

My iPhone 4 was the first smartphone I had bought that just worked (after some that were nearly good - various Nokia ones, and a Palm Pre), and so I've stuck with them, just upgrading to a 6. I'm sure Android is good now too, but why change?

Why is it a pain? Is it just slow now or things not working? What phone do you actually have?

When I first updated a couple of days ago could I Eck as like post on ere. It would show up to post a reply. But you could not type. After hanging around five mins to load. I typed a nice long reply to the trip advisor topic only for the iPad to crash as soon as tried to post reply. At that point my tyrets kicked in.

i then tried to access my emails with no success. Over the last few days it has slowly got better but there is still at times a lag.
