I have some Flak XLJ and have decided to get some prescription lenses as my eyesight for distances is a little woeful.

Not sure if to get a regular tinted lens with my prescription and use just when sunny, or go for the transitions, but I have no experience of them.

Anyone here use either?

Cheers

I think this has been discussed before with both for and against comments.

I'm in the for camp - I only wear glasses for driving (a car) and golf but swear by transitions lenses. Saves having to swap backwards and forwards in changeable condtions and means you always have the right level of tint for the situation.

I wouldn't bother Scott.

Where you hit to off the tee, I'm sure that you don't lose sight of too many balls, it's just getting near enough to play them is the problem!

I hate transition lenses, they seem to take too long to clear when you come inside so you feel a right wally walking inside with dark glasses on especially on a dull day !

They never return to true clear lenses either, personally i would stick to standard sunglasses

Headache generators for me!

I park sunglasses off when hitting/putting too. Grass is the perfect background for eyes to work best - aka relax!

Hi,

Speaking as someone who suffers incredible migraines and HAS to wear sunglasses I went the other route, and had my eyes lasered....rid of the need for distance correction glasses altogether...bit radical some would say...but glasses are 3 to 4 hundred for 2 decent pair every few yrs....and the surgery was under 1000 forever...apparently after around 45 your eyes don't alter too much so worth doing so the guy told me.
I now have PERFECT vision for golf, and can choose from a vast array of shades...always find Oakley/Revo's to be the best for golf/driving..just my 2pennorth....good luck in finding the right solution...

Scott, I suffer from hayfever pretty bad and Ive got a couple of pairs of oakleys and would defo recommend them. They are a bit pricey but if they're in your budget then you won't be disappointed.

I was hoping they might help me find your golf ball in the rough/trees...might speed the round up a bit

Thanks to everyone else for their constructive comments.

I take the point about not returning to clear too quickly but I woud take them off if inside as I dont generally need glasses.

I am sure you wouldn't have played with Bratty if you had realised it was him in the clubhouse!
