Anyone still using blades?

Got a set of my dad's blades in the loft which I used in my late teens. No brand on them. All it says is 'made in Scotland' and a signature 'A Slocombe' which I think is that of the Club Pro.
The heads are tiny and I mean tiny. How I ever hit them goodness knows but I am resolved to take them to the course and see if they are any good (I bet the grips are shot though)

Yes ............. Still using & love my mp32's , just had them regripped last weekend , beautiful clubs in every way , especialy the look of them at address ...

Do you guys with the Mizuno blades find they mark up very easily?,I had a set of MP-33 new back in the day and was suprised how quick they wear on the face and how easily they mark up,Mizuno must use a very soft metals combinations during casting.

The titleist ones are very easy marked from bag clatter, most (if not all?) blades are forgings so will be made from soft metal (relatively)

I play Mizuno Muscle back's and the faces don't mark up any more than cast clubs that I've had (probably because I don't find the sweet spot all that often  but the reason they mark is because they're forged rather than cast clubs, so the metal is softer.

Have just changed from a set of old TM blades. I think I need a bit more help these days. Just got the TM TP CB's. so hopefully the best of both worlds?

Certainly by the looks of this thread Mizzys seem to be the choice of most 'blade' players.

id love to get some MP69's and think that by the time my ball striking has improved to that level we will be a model or 2 down the line.

Nope no blades here. Have tried MP-68s at the range and when flushed it was like being on the vinegar stroke with Natalie Imbruglia. :)

The higher clubs on my MP-53s are blade-ish, but that's the closest at the moment.

i really love my mp67s. I think they inspire a lot of confidence in my iron play.

the way it works for me is that i know to get the best out of them, as with any club, you need to swing and strike the ball well. as i know that you dont really get away with a bad swing with blades it helps me concentrate and focus on each shot. I think i swing more consistently well with my irons than any other club in my bag.

sort of a catch 22 situation, GI irons i found my swing to be more sloppy as mentally i would know that if i didnt catch it quite right and it would still be ok. i think in my golf i like the clear distinction between success and failure from a mental point of view, not differing shades of grey.

now that makes sense to me, probably doesnt to anyone else though...

Totally agree, the smaller sweet spot on a blade iron makes me concentrate harder..some of these huge oversize massive offset irons will give more forgiveness but wont give that crisp feel back you get when you hit a blade iron well.

Mizuno are the best club on the market just ask any pro, they are one of the softest forged irons on the market and therefore easy to tweak to your needs, just ask Luke Donald " The worlds best player"

Yes the back of the clubs get marked but the faces are solid.
