I've played it a couple of times, the last time was just after the Open with all the stands etc up. I fond it to be extremely difficult purely because I was pretty wild off the tee that day and the rough was brutally difficult to come out of. If you are straight off the tee then you should really enjoy it but if not really think about dropping to a rescue or a 3 wood from the tee to keep it on the short stuff. Loved playing it though and it was obviously in tremendous nick.
I'd agree with albanach, sacrifice potential distance for being straight.Only hit driver when swinging well and confident it's going where you want.Great course, members can be stuffy but not all of them and instead of the clubhouse, go to the golf tavern beside the kids course in gullane, it's much nicer.
