Golf pro within 30 mins drive of me has got in a trackman. He's charging €50 for a trackman test, from what I can gather you get given particular distances and are asked to hit 6 balls to each. You're given points depending on how well you do & it highlights areas of weakness. The aim then is to improve on these areas and take the test again a few weeks later and see is there an improvement.

I'd always liked the idea of trying out a trackman and seeing what my distances are.

Anyone here any experience of using one?

I had a session on a flightscope back in April an hours play just hit all my clubs tweaked my driver lifts and swapped shafts as a result of facts and figures.
Was quite enlightening and came away with various print outs.
The trackman test you've seen advertised is use by the pros a lot Luke, JR, Poults and Gmac tend to have a bit of banter early season on twitter about there results.
Go have fun IMO. :)

I'd be very interested if I could get a print out giving me details such as carry, spin rates, etc for each club.

Speak to the pro concerned I would suggest that would be favourable to taking the trackman test. I paid £50 for an hour and as many balls and print puts as I wanted.

Sounds like another way for the Pro to bring some cash in on his (huge) investment in Trackman.

That 'test' is not all that different fromthe target golf set up by ranges or with specialists like Top Golf.

I'd sooner use it for a 'fitting' though!

I used Trackman earlier this year at St Andrews

Fantastic bit of kit, easy to use and understand the returned info but the best part for me was that you were able to see your ball flight for each shot. Perfect way to get a rough idea of club distances

Highly recommended
