Played yesterday and when i took a tee shot for a par 3, using my 7 iron, i had a near miss with the tee. It shot straight up and has left a small cut on the top side of my nose. not sure i want to find out how much damage this could have done. Luckily i had joined a chap the tee box before so at least he knew where my ball was.

Not personally but I did hear a story about a golfer who couldn't find his tee one day because it had gone in his eye. I think he found out after a few weeks of severe headaches.

It is a strange occurance if one of mine doesn't snap!

does this have to be golf related?

if not my near miss injury has got to be my car crash back in early 2009.i'm still amazed i survived the crash tbh but not only that i came out of it completey unhurt........

amazingly the roof was caved in a little bit more than this but when the recovery guy lifted the car by the roof it brought it up a little bit......i decided to sell my motorbikes after this and buy a faster bike :)

No but I did manage to hit the ball sock into the tree in front of me I was trying to avoid and took it full on the chin. It cut it straight down so my chin resembled Kirk Douglas til it healed. For a while afterwards I flinched and shut my eyes when confronted with a shot near trees - not the best way to play a shot.

On Saturday a golf ball flew past my head and missed by a foot. Most people exaggerate things like this....but it did really miss by a foot!

It was at the perfect height to smack me in the face and to be honest, I think it would have killed me if it hit my head.

It was on a dog leg hole and although the guys behind us could see how busy the course was and that there was a 4 ball in front of us, one of the blokes decided to play the shot 'blind' even though we hadn't rung the bell!!!

To say I went mental is an understatement.

not too myself however I hit my drive up our 13th which runs parallel to a main road and 3 women joggers down... when they got down towards me informed me with my fantastic hook missed one of the ladies by about an inch which reminded me I needed insurance :o

Surely that has to be an urban myth. I think you'd know if a lump of wood or plastic went in your eye. I've never had anything close to a golfing injury like that. Ive had a few cuts from thorns looking for my ball and did turn my ankle in a rabbit hole once but never threatened to decapitate myself with a jagged tee peg

On Monday stood just to the side of our 17th tee talking to my playing partner when I heard a muffled shout of "fore!" from over my left shoulder as a ball went whizzing past and was seriously less than a foot away from hitting me straight in the plums!

The bloke that hit it was nearly parallel to us on the 16th fairway so god knows how he managed to hook it that much.

nothing like that, only given myself a scar down one side of my face, lip to chin where i tried to bite a tee in half for playing on winter mat. lessoned learned as it was quite funny saying to HID that it was a golf incident. sure she didnt believe me for ages.
