Anyone else looking forward to the better weather?

Is this thread going to turn into one of "those" threads now? If so I'll just not bother coming back to it.

On the plus side, I've been promoted this week and now have to do some travelling with work. First on the list is............... Gainsborough!!!!! I bet it's not sunny there.

Might still be an interesting visit, I heard Gainsborough was the first town in England to get a drive through petrol station

We have had an extremely mild winter so far with the Ave temp being 7 deg for Dec and Jan as opposed to about 1 normally.

it was cold last night and the forecast for tonight is -10, though at the moment its a nice sunny day. alas i won't be playing this weekend, got a bug of some sort and can hardly move, let alone swing a club.

I've a feeling we may have already had all our good weather;(

Yes, for various reasons I've not been able to play the last two weekends so haven't had a game in 3 weeks now - going stir-crazy in the house. Wifey is now off for a girly weekend so golf-fest in the offing .... until I looked at the forecast for Saturday and Sunday

I'm telling myself they are often pessimistic on the BBC weather site so maybe it will only be one drop of rain and 20mph winds.

Suspect I'll be very wet and very cold by 3pm on Saturday.

2 weeks today we'll be at home, in Spain. BBQ in the afternoon followed by tapas at a lovely bar in the village

I always had you down as one of the good guys on here and then you post that!!!

You can go off someone pretty quickly you know. And as mentioned on Blackadder - no-one likes a gloater :D

And anyway, I'd much rather trudge around under leaden skies in a perishing cold -2 degrees with a biting north wind making it seem more like -16, than sit in the sun BBQing and eating tapas in a lovely village bar.

Surely the simple answer if you aren't interested in these topics or the arguments, sniping within them, just don't read them. People shouldn't post on them and then moan about the course they take.
Commenting initially before threads turn can be excused, but constantly posting in some and then trying to take a morale stand point makes me laugh.

Indeed. And then joining in when the arguments begin to make their own point, feeding the flames, and then coming out and preaching righteously is funny. As you say, if you post and then it turns, fair enough, they do so on here, but don't wade in deep into an argument (some on a regular basis) and then get moral about it

Not the worst winter we've had on these boards but, Sweet Jesus, I can't wait for the political threads to die..
About a third of the forum is a no-no area.
Severely limits my interest....
Roll on Spring so everyone can start playing again...

So you don't see it as just some good old debating?

Argumentative knobs maybe?

Bully your bruv into closing them down  if that doesn't work let him win the next match.

12 days! There's snow outside, definitely counting

Just don't do what my sister does after moving out there in 2013. She is constantly updating FB with pictures of "our Christmas BBQ" or "first rain of 2016" or "oh, the air conditioner has broken and it's hell" or "loving our winter walks on the beach"

Well send over a hit squad if he does 😜
