any MMA fans here?

No mate. I used to do Karate, but if I tried to do a roundhouse now, id put my back out and end up in a heap on the floor

Could still do some damage with a Hiza Geri if need be :D

Love boxing and MMA. Havn't been watching MMA as much recently since UFC moved to ESPN and Strikeforce doesn't have a TV contract for the Uk.

Can we have a new forum section for gibberish?

I watched it once and it was very homoerotic. Very well built men holding themselves in very sexual positions.

I found it very uncomfortable to watch.

All they needed was baby oil to complete the experience.

I dont watch it but one of the lads thet used to hang about with us is a MMA fighter (Stuart Jess) and one of the lads in my college has his first MMa fight in a few weeks - so a load of us are going to watch it.
TBH I like the fighting element - but just dont get the 'holding' as mentioned above it's a bit dull.

I used to watch it all the time before it moved to sky. Had some good british fighters coming through at that time as well, Dan hardy,Mike? bisping.

I think on the mat wrestling is more technical and has many more moves and counter moves to learn meaning its harder to learn. Still love to see a good knockout though

Love it , dont get to see it now as finances dictate i wont have the extra chanels ie sky sports, espn etc.. did kickboxing for years & loved it , guys i trained with are big into jujitsu now , thay are nuts into altogether, my bro is 3rd dan in the kickboxing & well up in the JJ, not sure of grading, i was one off my black when i stopped training, got disalousioned as it was all technique & kata , preferred the sparring , big GSP fan also loved the Forrest G fights , Dan Hardy is a hardy by name & nature , bisbing is good but crikey he can talk some rubbish tho ..

see im a big fan of the ground fighting, more so than the stand up,
Its good if both go to work , ground can be boring , mind you i supose stand up can be too if they dont get it on , my backround was kickboxing so im bound to biast twords that i supose ,

i agree ground can be boring, when you get an outsiding wrestler vs a guy who doesnt wrestle as well so is just pinned to the mat

i much rather 2 BJJ guys go at it, the technical side the subtle moves counters sweeps transitions, its an art imo and nothing better than forcing a guy to tap with your shin!!

i train BJJ every now and again, participated in a comp once won my first lost my second loved it tho!
