Any interest in West Hill Golf Club in August or early September?

Every weekday for the past 5 years I've passed West Hill Golf Course on the train to/from work. It's twice-daily torture for me as the course looks absolutely fantastic. Sadly given it's in the heart of Surrey, it's not cheap! (two fore one vouchers aren't accepted either.)

That said, I still fancy having a game as a golfing treat and was wondering if anyone else fancied joining me? Handicap certificates aren't required, but they expect/hope you can play to a 24 handicap (or less).

I'm considering either of the below weekday options in August or early September:

All day: £90 (ideally would play 36 holes).

or

Twilight: £45 (after 3pm BST)

More details and photos can be found on their website.

Anyone tempted?

OOOH! Could be very tempted! I would love to play down there! I could do late August and early September too!

Bit steep for me, and 36 holes would kill me. I always sit on the side of the train, so i can admire all the courses on the way up to London. How sad is that ?

Excellent, I'm glad there's some interest in this. What dates in early September can people make? I was thinking either the 7th or 14th Sept?

Also which appeals more 36 holes or just the 18 twilight?

I do the same! Not so much in winter though as it's always dark outside.

Looks nice, reminiscent of Crowboro', without the (very) low cloud.

At those prices I can't see why anyone would go for just 18 holes during the day.

Sadly the dates you've picked are either side of my society trip to North Wales, and for some reason they do like to see me at work occasionally.

Passed the course today on the train to London. It looked superb, fairways were surprisingly green and lush, and cut with a nice criss-cross pattern. Greens are always good. Shame they want £90 to play there. :( :(

If you score well at West Hill you are having a good day - some very tough holes like 3 and 18 - played four or five times and can't remember paring either of them or even being on the green in regulation! Only 2 par 5s and both have tracts of heather across the fairway that make reaching in 2 very tough. Nice course - I would go with the twilight offer

Is this happening?
Having bemoaned the distance from Chez Greg,it seems I may be forced at wifepoint to spend a few days down in the that part of the world some time in Sept.
Nothing booked yet but it'd be great if it all came together.

Yes it will happen. I'm hoping we can arrange it for the 7th Sept. but I want to see if/when they plan to hollowtine the greens. If people don't want to play 36 holes, then they can just join for the 2nd round (twilight).

Could be tempted by the twilight golf.

The course was looking lovely when I went past today... ;)
