I recently bought registration of a .co.uk domain name through Godaddy. After realising they were ripping me off I tried to cancel. I cancelled within 5 days of the original payment. According to them a .co.uk domain name is non-refundable. Where do I stand in terms of the law? I thought I had a cooling off period of some description with it being a distance purchase?

You acknowledge and understand that Domain names are not entitled to cooling off periods under Regulation 13(1)(c) of the Distance Selling Regulations 2000.

Thanks paddy. Pain in the royal, but fair enough. The annoying thing is they told me I could cancel. What they failed to tell me was that I wouldn't be refunded. But then they're robbing sods drawing people in with cheap first year registrations, signing them up to auto renewals, and then hiking the price.

Try registering something like Godaddy-is-a-ripoff.co.uk with them then!
