Well guys as the title says i've won another trophy today.

Played my club singles (handicap) matchplay final this afternoon.

My opponent was off 15 and I had just received a cut to 3 after a nice win in the midweek stableford. So 12 shots to give away which was a little daunting tbh

Anyhow after a par, par, birdie, par, birdie, birdie, par start it was game over and I was 7 up at the turn. He finally used a couple of his shots at the start of the back 9 but I closed it out with pars on 13 and 14 for a 5/4 win.

Wasnt much of a match tbh but a win is a win and thats my 3rd honours board trophy this year. I also have the OOM sown up too but thats not official until December prize giving day so it will be 4 majors this year.

I think its time to put my feet up and chill out for a while ..

JD

Well done JD,
Great shootin Tex.......As you said yourself it was lights out at half time for the man........Did he play to his handicap or did he struggle.....
Was his course management a little off.....
I know im only off 16 but one thing i do well is my course management.....While those about me are always reaching for the big stick ill play and iron or wood....

It pains me at times to watch others struggle with poor decisions that could be thought out alot better if they swallowed there pride sometimes. :D

Blimey, you really wiped the floor with him Dave. Well played, I thought you had a confident look about you earlier but I suppose that comes with being 3 up after 3 :)
Nice one.

Well done mate....and to think it all started at Luton Hoo!!! I'd like to think I contributed in some tiny way in your remarkable success this year :D ....great golf pal.... :D

Many thanks guys , its nice to get the support you do on this forum when sharing some 'small' club success , cheers

Rick - I cant think that round at Luton Hoo had any similarity about it to anything i'm doing now. Be honest it was total pooh that day it was embarassingly bad

Kid - He wasnt a long hitter at all but was usually in the fairway. Unfortunately he 2nd shots werent getting anywhere near the target and his short game wasnt up to it on the day. Not using all those strokes he had was a crime really. He would have had to play way under his h/c to have kept in the running though.

homer - I'm going to see if I can get a piccy at the prize giving of all the silverware. Should be 5 big trophies in all and the wife wants some proof.

Well done Jammy :) A great season by anyone's standards.

If the wife wants proof she could always accompany her husband to his big night :D

He would have had to play way under his h/c to have kept in the running though.

I think you're doing him a bit of an injustice.

With a start like that, Casey would have crumbled, let alone a mid handicapper.

Admittedley, as soon as I met you, I thought 'class player'

:)

TBH I actually thought '2nd class player' not 'top class' ;)

I'm really chuffed that one of the good guys on the forum has had such a great year.

Congrats

Well done JD, Just hope I can do the same when when I play my singles final, my opponent has to give me 9 shots :D
