Sometimes some stuff goes though my mind and the maths start.

The how many rounds and best eclectic score threads went through my mind.

I worked out that I have played somewhere in the region of 5000 rounds where I am a member (40 years a member 2-3 rounds a week). No wonder the eclectic is so good as that is 5000 chances to get a birdie or an eagle on every hole.

No clue how many rounds so many of my early years at the club I was playing partial rounds in the evening.
I've birdied every hole and had eagles on three.

I looked at mine, several years ago, for my old club back in the northeast of England. It’s not that spectacular. Eagled the four par 5’s. Eagled 2 of the par 4’s, a hole-in-one(eagle) and birdied all the rest. But as you say, with enough years in you’ll be under par on every hole. 25 under, 47.

Some of the more spectacular shots are well remembered. One of the eagles on a par 4 was achieved on a dreadful day. One of the longer par 4’s into the wind & rain - driver followed by driver, the second having more run than your average greyhound…

I've played my course 1651 times , birdied them all and eagled 11 of them, 3 on the front nine and all but the par 3 18th on the back nine

How long did it take people to birdie every hole on the course when they started playing?

I’m relatively new (1st year at club) and relatively rubbish - I did tick off 2 more holes that I’ve now birdied on today’s round which I was very pleased with (birdies are like eagles at my level!) but still have several holes I’ve never birdied.

I couldnt tell you how many birdies, eagles or whatever over my golf playing years.
All I do know is I have had 2 holes in one.
The first when playing pitch and putt and putt it straight into the cup without touching the grass
The second on a par3 in a comp, which means my name is up in gold.
Anything else is not worth worrying about....to me anyway :)

My eclectic at last club was -29

New club, only -20

I’ve no idea how long that would have been but about 10 years back I totted up my birdies for the year. With a few weeks left of the year I was in touching distance of 100 birdies. I finished on 97 birdies from around 60 rounds. I also nabbed about half a dozen eagles that year, 2 of them in one round.

I have no idea about how long to birdie every hole, was probably a couple of years before I even birdied 1.

A couple of years after joining my current club and about 7 years after first starting to play I became a bit of a birdie machine trouble was I was also a double bogey machine, the one round that sticks in my mind was the one with the most birdies in a single round - 8, but also 6 double bogeys in the same round. Took me several more years to get the double bogeys out the scores.

I've never played much in the winter, but I've played at my club 1974 to 1979 and 1989 to today = 43 summers. I would estimate in the region of 3,000 to 3,500 rounds.
95% certain that I had birdied every hole by 1977 as I was off 5 by then and playing 8 rounds in a week was not unusual in the summer back then.

Eagled all 3 par-5s a lot more than once and had 3 hole-in-ones on separate holes.
I'm uncertain of my tally of eagles on par-4s.
I am certain of 3 from recent years that were in comps. But I have a feeling that I have done one-or-two-or-more in casual golf over the last 50 years that were soon forgotten.

This has left space in the old data-banks for more important stuff like who are the best golfers and footballers of all time. :D
